A number of people had recommended St. Lucia as a vacation destination to us. They were right, it was a beautiful holiday.
Ach ja, in Paris. Wunderbare Stadt.
A quick escape to France to visit Martin and Celine in Ville d’Avray, a small town between Paris and Versailles. Had I not already made Toronto my home, I’d move to Paris. Or to Berlin. Or commute between the two cities. In any case, I wish Toronto would build out its public transit system the same way it has been done in these two cities. Impossible is nothing, dear Mayor Miller. With a little bit of good will and federal money one could build more than two and a half subway lines in a city of five million. But where was I? Ah, yes, in Paris. Beautiful city.
Danke! Jetzt auch hier anzuschauen.
I should have taken photos at the local pub in Schweinschied where I watched Germany advance against Sweden in the World Cup 2006. Instead you are welcome to browse through my desparate attempts at nature photography with a miniature digital camera. Great snail photo though! UPDATE: Gerhard sent me photos from the pub. Thank you! Now included too.
Vielen Dank. Es war wunderschoen.
Eva and Christoph have married in Caputh on June 8th, 2006. I was busy taking snapshots until the battery gave up on me. It was the wedding with soccer target practice, a customized rendition of Abba’s “Mamma Mia”, balloons, dance marathons and (so I’ve been told) an after-party plunge into the lake. Weddings don’t get any better than this! Thank you. It was wonderful.
Schade eigentlich.
Photos from Ulla and Robert’s 70th and 75th birthday. It was a garden party with music and the deserved coronation of my parents. I got a crown, too. Unfortunately I forgot it in Germany, I could have used it at work (“We’ll do it my way because I am the king around here!”). Too bad.
Photos from Cologne, Stuttgart and Leipzig where I watched three games live in the stadiums, and a few pics from the “Fanfest” and a couple other places in Berlin. Who knew that it would be such a great World Cup tournament! Thanks to Eva who gave her tickets for Cologne and Leipzig to me, and to Klaus who organized the tickets. In addition, a big thanks to my nephew Peer who watched Spain vs. Tunisia with me. It was fantastic!
